Check out this link, I am in the process of doing this and getting my wireless going. So far I have the driver installed and the card is showing up. Now I just have to get it to connect to my router. Anyway I figured this was better than nothing... WPA - Debian Wiki

Do you have the windows driver for this card? If so then you should be able to get ndiswrapper to work with your driver. Got o Wireless Networking with ndiswrapper | TUX and that will walk you through the install for ndiswrapper and your driver. Then if that does not get the job done also check out Arthur's homepage: using WPC54G with Debian I know that is not the same card as yours, but it should work the same for you as far as what to do. Hopefully that will help you get a little closer and don't give up just yet. It may be a little chaotic at first, but the Linux world is so nice once you get the hang of it. If you are not sure on how to install ndiswrapper since those directions are for Yast you can go here NDISwrapper
I hope that helps!

i have the same card
I use linux drivers, i dont use network managers, i wrote my own script to connect to wireless networks... if you see "wlan0" when you do a "iwconfig" then do a:
ifconfig wlan0 10.0.0.1
then
iwlist wlan0 scanning
if you see wireless networks its because your card is working

etch and wireless networking
i think what i am going to have to do is blacklist the rt61 driver, and use ndiswrapper to install the windows driver for my wireless card. if that dont work i guess ill build one from source. the trouble i seem to have is using rt61-fwcutter, as i get error messages that it cannot load the firmware.
