dependency problem with firefox
Hello, everybody.I am a novice here. Today I met with a problem when I was about to install firefox:
When I type "apt-get install firefox" in the terminal, the system told me that dependency problems has occurred:
firefox: dependency: iceweasel (< 2.0.0.3-1.1~) but 2.0.0.4-1 was to be installed.
then the installation failed.
What is the problem, and how should I do?
PS. I have installed Iceweasel, and once removed it before installing firefox, but unfortunately it did not work.

Bluebell, I'm new to Debian. Been a Fedora user for a long time though. As I understand it, Ice Weasel is Firefox, so I don't see a need to actually install Firefox because you/we basically already have it installed. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As I know, Iceweasel is the GNU version of firefox. But there are subtle differences. Since I used firefox on windows platform before switching to Debian, I just wonder if I could get a free version of firefox. Now I guess maybe they are incompatible in that ice is not fire and weasel is not fox...
Thank you, glennzo!

download FireFox from here and extract it. it will create FireFox folder. open FireFox folder and double click in firefox file in it. FireFox 2 will pop up. create symlink of firefox file on Desktop or add an entry in Menu.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
