CPU fan slow down at boot time!
i have an emachines 390 POS from PC world with a version of pheonix bios, the bios has little functionality above boot order and power off functions...
i have just installed knoppix 5.1.0 as a debian system on a secondary harddisc.. so am posting here as it is now debian ?
during boot time it decides to slow the fan down to a completely ineffective speed, causing after a while of use the machine to shut itself down due to cpu temp to high.
i have poked around with acpi a bit but all my fan's status displays is on or off, i cant see any way to set the speed of the fan or find a way for the boot sequence to not decide to alter the fan speed.
i cant just re route power to the fan, as if the mb detects there is no fan it refuses to boot.
