    ATI and Direct Rendering.

I'm having a little bit of difficulty getting direct rendering to work on Debian Etch. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon X1700.

If someone has done this before or has any clue on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance, chadders.

    Code:
    chadders@laptop:~$ glxinfo | grep direct
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
    direct rendering: No
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
    chadders@laptop:~$ fglrxinfo
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
    display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
    OpenGL version string: 1.4 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.2)

    chadders@laptop:~$

Can you post your xorg.conf and the output of

    cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE

    Try removing this from xorg.conf

    Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals"

OK, back. Sorry, I have been away for a few days, but I am back and ready for action.

Oh yes, and a correction to my distribution information: I am running Debian GNU/Linux Lenny/Sid (not Etch).

My current file information re: direct rendering is as follows:

    /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Code:
    # /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
