Cookies not being set or sent

    Hi

I have installed a brand new server using debian etch and the netinst. I have installed everyting according to the manual here: The Perfect Setup - Debian Etch (Debian 4.0) | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

The I added phpmyadmin. Problem is whenever I try to log in to mysql using phpmyadminI get back to the login page. I have a similar install on another machine and I know cookies are working in my browser so it is not a browser problem.

I have chanhed the login method for phpmyadmin to http and then it is working but then If i install another application that uses cookies it is not working. So it must be some general error with cookies on my server

    I. It seems my debian server is not producing them or something.

    Please help

    Hardware problem?

I just now completeted an identical install on another hardware. This was an old pc. Here everything is ok. On my other server though using the exact same install cookies are not generated or sent.

Could it be something with my server hardware that prevents it from generating cookies? Seems quite strange though. I am using a brand new HP ProLiant DL320 5th generation server. So it is not exactly an unknown make or brand.
