    Press F1 to continue

    Hey alles!

Recently I installed Debian 4 on my old compaq 1.4Ghz 512Mb RAM and for some odd reason, when I reboot it stops at Press F1 to continue??
When pressing F1 it starts. When having WinXP on it earlier it worked as a charm. No errors are displayed,, have been testing BIOS settings without luck. Removed parts not needed to run a server with same silly result.

Any 1 having or have had same problem?

This has nothing to do with the OS. Your hard drive is getting old and starting to fail. I've had this happen, and the only thing to do is get a new HDD. I tried keeping the old one, but after a little while I began to lose important data. Play it safe, replace your hard disk.

    That was it!

Nice to know that it was the HDD that wasn't working properly,, but still,, 80 Gigs of good space gone wasted Have to look for replacement.

Thanx KevinCLovesU for your great help!
