Intel HD Glitchy audio?
Hi. My name is Nathaniel.
On my K52F ASUS lappy, I have problems with audio.
I originally had problems with my audio playing through both speakers and head phone jack.
I tried to fix it by configuring ALSA.
I've tried practically all of the extensions in the config, and none of them work... but now I have't even got any specific audio extension loaded, and it's still "Glitchy" (it wasn't before?)
I have a HDA intel sound card with a G45 DEVIBX chipset...
Anybody got flawless audio with this card?
Also my alsamixer doesn't show any front speakers, which I think is my problem, but TBH I'm still investigating the problem.
The last thing I want to do is recompile alsa+libraries and my audio drivers...
Plus, I have pulse audio install...
And I'm running a modified version of squeeze.
I encountered the same problem under Ubuntu / LinuxMint. It was related to SPDIF audio and Pulse. I solved it by editing the file /etc/pulse/daemon.conf like this :
I put those values because it's what my power amplifier is capable of.
resample-method = speex-float-9
enable-remixing = yes
default-sample-format = float32le
default-sample-rate = 96000
alternate-sample-rate = 48000
default-sample-channels = 2
default-channel-map = front-left,front-right
