    xfce menu lacking application shortcuts

i'm wondering why xfce4 menu on my xubuntu 7.04 doesnt show all of the installed applications. i also tried the blackbox wm and i got surprised about how many things i had installed but didn't even know about them.

is there a way to make xfce menu detect all the apps by itself, like blackbox menu does?

You have to manually add all apps that you want to show in the Blackbox menu. Look in your hidden configuration files in your /home/username folder.

For Xfce4, they only showup if you have a properly formatted .desktop entry for them in the /usr/share/applications folder. Most apps install those automatically, but some won't. Sometimes, apps will show up if you log out then back in after installing them.
