    Gnome mount icons

    Hi!

i have installed Gnome 2.6 on Mandrake 10 Official.

now Mandrake spawns icons for every thing that gets mounted. i found i can disable this for dynamic mounts like USB sticks and stuff like that by removing the entries in the dynamic conf of devfs.
but the harddisks that get mounted during bootup still have desktop icons.

now that gnome 2.6 has this nice COMPUTER icon, i dont need them and dont want them. mounted FTP shares also show up on the desktop.

anybody knows how to get rid of them?

    best regards.

    lol...

when i saw screenshots of other distributions running gnome 2.6, there were no desktop icons. so i guess its mandrake specific.
supermount is disabled (at least i typed in "supermount -i disable" as root...)

    those hide my precious wallpaper!

That's actually a good question. I'd really like to know as well. Maybe someone should ask over at gnomesupport.org?
