Dualhead (BigDesktop) with the ATI fglrx-Drivers?
hello! (sorry for my bad english, i am a young swiss guy).
i have an ATI RADEON 9600 card (2 graphical outputs) with two monitors (ACER AL1712). i'd like to use both of them for a big desktop (with Gnome 2.6). well, dualheading is working, and i can move my cursor from the first screen to the second screen and back (great, isn't it?
), but the desktop from the first screen is some kind of "cloned" - i have the same desktop on screen two. i can't even click or move an application window two the second screen.
- to understand better, have a look at my Screenshot
- this is my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
- Xinerama is activated and should work (because the fields from the Gnome 2.6 workspace-switcher are longer than normal (good sign, right?)).
i used /usr/X11R6/bin/fglrxconfig to create my XF86Config-4. i was asked for 1. single screen, 2. big desktop, 3. dualhead or 4. cloning. i wasn't sure which one is the correct, so i tried first 3.dualhead (with the cloned-desktop-result) and after 2. big desktop (but the "big desktop" mode gave me an error message from the xserver: failed to add/screen, i don't know to handle this message).
can you help me? thanks...
