Hi folks,

I've just installed gentoo with a 2.6.7 kernel and xfce4 as a desktop.

Everything works fine when I log as root. The problem
happens when I log using my usual user account:
clicking on the icon "xfterm4" won't open any term.
I've also tried typing it into the command line of the
panel or putting it in the xinitrc file: doesn't work
either.

The problem has also be reported by some other people on several forums. No solution found yet.

Any idea of what my next move should be?
