    Gnome issues

    HI

I just did a security update for fedora 8. After I did the reboot I had an X server issue which was fixed up just be logging to root and starting X server again.

But since then when I log into Gnome the windows always open up above the screen on top of the top menu bar and I can't make any more desktops, its only allowing 1.

I created a new user to log in with and Gnome is perfect but under Root and my normal log in it's borked.

Can someone please tell what I need to do to fix it. Or copy the Gnome profile from the new user that I created to my Root and normal log in so I can use it again.

    Cheers

You could try renaming the hidden Gnome configuration folders in your /home/user_name directory, then restarting Gnome to see if it works properly after the folders rebuild themselves.

    Thanks for the help.

Tried removing the files, but it didn't work.
Needed to reinstall the NVIDIA drivers and it got fixed up after that.
