I have a notebook with an ALPS GlidePoint pointing device. It works fine when starting X without a configuration file, but if I start X with the xorg.conf generated by the fglrx driver or Xorg -configure the pointer moves incredibly slow (1:1) and the tap to click feature is disabled.

Here is the current mouse section in xorg.conf
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
EndSection
