WM framing
Hi, I would like to try to make a toy window manager, so I've started a basic thing and when it launches applications they start without any frame. So I would like to know how to make the frame of the windows, that will be a point to start.
Also I haven't found any documentation about how to build a window manager, could you tell where I could find some?
thanks

Hi, deehuck! Welcome to LinuxForums!

I looked around and found this link. I haven't tried to build my own WM, but this looks pretty promising. Good luck, I hope this helps!Jay

maybe you have copy-pasted the url from the wrong tab in your browser,
the link you give doesn't give any explanations about how to build a window manager.

Finaly I've found this:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Re-parenting_window_manager
then this
doc.ddart.net/unix/x/xlib/window-and-session-manager/
it seems that's it!
