[SOLVED] file managers and drag n drop
Hello,
I've been trying out different file managers for linux, and I've run into a snag:
Dragging and dropping files to applications doesn't seem to work, except with nautilus. Now I've been told that this is not normal.
for example, dropping a file from thunar, rox-filer, emelfm2 to vlc player playlist doesn't work. the icon simply floats back to its folder. If I use nautilus it works fine. Any ideas how to fix this?
btw, I'm running yellow dog linux on a ps3.
Thanks,
Alex

I've grown quite fond of Xfe. It allows for dragging files into Xmms. I don't know if it will work with what you're wanting to do but it might be worth a look.

Thanks for the answer. I've tried xfe and it is indeed nice.
Anyways, I've solved my problem, building the latest vlc from source fixed drag n drop to the playlist.
Cheers,
Alex
