    Simplest, fastest and easiest way:

    Get Mac4Lin.

    SourceForge.net: Mac4Lin

Its the best solution for a gnome user.

How can I know my gnome version ? .. and where to get the Emerald theme ? .. I successfully ran the .sh file that came with the Mac4Lin, yet I didn't get the icons or the trays !

Look around in your Gnome menu. There's an about link in there that should give you information regarding the version of Gnome you are running.
