[SOLVED] Accessing Root?
I'm using lots of commands now that apparently require me to be in the root account, but I don't know what the login info is for root since I only made my own personal account. I have no idea what the root login is. Is there a default login for it? If not, how would I access it? Also, not sure if it matters or not, but I'm using a somewhat older version of GNU (gNewSense) Linux. Thanks to all who answer.

Check this HowTo for several different ways to reset your root password:

→ new members/users: read this first | new member faq
→ no private messages requesting computer support - post them on the forums!
→ please use the "report post" button to alert our forum admins to problematic posts rather than responding to them yourself.
