KDE resolution problems
KDE on my system suddenly set itself to 2048x1538x85KHz. I had it set to 1024x768x70KHz, since my old eyes can't see well at the higher resolutions. Every time I try and set it back using System Configuration, it goes right back to the higher resolution. Alternatively, the taskbar goes to 1024x768 and the desktop stays at 2048x1538. The problem exists for all users with KDE, but doesn't happen with Gnome or Xfce. I'm suspecting a system KDE configuration file, but don't know where to look. What can I do to fix this?

Sounds like you are forgetting to click on the 'Apply settings on KDE startup' in the Control Center.

I rebooted and brought it up in KDE. I reset the resolution and the apply settings box was checked. It looks normal now. I'm not entirely sure what that was, but I'll watch it the next few days.
