    nope it doesn't start a process itself..

    post your crontab entry and have you checked this linux Desktop ?

    tell me do you know wht is this:

    If i will check for X11 process i get :

    /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 -audit 0 -auth /var/gdm/:0.Xauth -nolisten tcp vt7

    So is it a problem?

    seems like X is running , other than that , I don't have any idea about it.
    Post your crontab entry. The last command i gave should start firefox from crontab.
    1)First login to linux machine (no putty)
    2)Edit crontab as provided above
    and wait for 1 mint and see if that works.

    If that didn't work. Sorry I ran out of options/ideas. Better wait for from LF member to answer this question or drop a mail to linux user groups or post in other forums.

    okay,this would be my final attempt check crontab logs from /var/log/cron
    Check for any error and post interesting log part here.
