    Greetings

    I'm a linux newbie.

Is Gnome and KDE the same no matter what Linux flavor? Is it the same in Suse, Red Hat, Debian or Ubuntu?

For example, if I learn how to use Gnome or KDE in Ubuntu does it mean I will know how to use it in Red Hat just as well?

    Thanks for your help!

    Welcome to the forums!

Sometimes, the distribution developers will make minor changes or apply patches to Gnome or KDE to enhance them for their particular distro, but none of the changes made should keep you from knowing how to use them in any Linux distribution.
