gnome3 + 10.04 ubuntu
so i recently tried the new gnome-shell replacement (downloading the gnome-shell and executing the gnome-shell --replace in terminal) but if i close the terminal prompt, my top and bottom menus disappear and the minimize/maximize/close buttons are gone. when i try to run metacity --replace it doesnt fix it. i have to either do a full restart or do the gnome-shell --replace again to get my windows back.
i would like to do either one of two things....
1. replace metacity with gnome-shell permanently
2. be able to close the terminal after launching the gnome-shell --replace command
thanks everyone

did a normal update through ubuntu and gnome-shell is now broke. i guess ill just have to wait on 10.1 coming out as it seems its not top priority to fix this atm.
