Force programs to run on second monitor
I just installed a second monitor and when I try to launch Empathy on the second monitor it opens on the first. Is there a way to force it to open on the second monitor.

For GUI programs, it usually depends upon where your mouse pointer happens to be. I have two displays, and my CentOS system (KDE 3.5.4) behaves that way.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

you should be able to set the display variable to point to the second monitor
how are you launching? via a shortcut or command line?
if it is a shortcut, if you prepend the command with DISPLAY=:1 or whatever the second monitor is set up to be, then it should open there, this assumes you are using separate X servers for each monitor with no xinerama though
