the screen on my second monitor is completely black, the cursor will move around the hole screen but mouse buttons will not do any thing on the second screen....

What distribution+version of linux are you using?
What desktop manager+version are you using (kde x.y, gnome x.y)?
What video hardware are you using?
What video driver are you using?
How do you have your display configured with the desktop manager - two separate consoles, or one console spanning both?Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
