how to have x start automatically after user login?
I have the same request for an elonex onet running 3MX 4.0:
(I'd like to have skip the texty bits.. ie password entry and typing "startx"..)
Here's the contents of inittab:
::sysinit:/init.d/rcS
::askfirst:-/bin/sh
tty1::respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1
tty3::respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty3
::shutdown:/bin/umount -a -r
::shutdown:/sbin/swapoff -a
Any suggestions?

Wouldn't it be easier to just use a runlevel which allows graphical logon using GDM, KDM or XDM?
