Looking for a thin windowmanager
Hi all,
I'm looking for a really thin windowmanager on a Debian basesystem running on virtualbox machine. The WM should provide a simple desktop for launching few application by doubleclicking their buttons.
Can anyone give me some recommendations ?

Hello and welcome to the forums!

You can find a nice listing of window managers (and desktop environments) along with their descriptions here:
Window Managers for X
I personally like using openbox for my own window manager needs.
Best of luck to you with your project.oz

Many thanks for your suggestion @ozar. I'll check the WM list now.

+1 for openbox. It's also what I mostly use. I also like pekwm. (I don't know why they have that hideous orange theme on their homepage, but you can make it look much prettier.)

+2 for openbox. I mostly use IceWM as a light WM but really like openbox too.

i never liked any of the *box WM's myself
for a light WM, I prefer fvwm-crystal, it takes up about only 8mb of memory so its still pretty darn light but I find the "eye candy" to be greater than what is provided by those *box WM's
