Firstly go to Yast and go to 'change source of installation'

Then click new ftp. in ther server box put:
    ftp.suse.com

    in the dirertory box put:
    /pub/suse/i386/current

    then click ok and finnish

now go back to YaST and go to 'Install and remove software' go to 'selections' and pick GNOME' and then Accept.

i don't think that this is what he really want to do..if you have installed gnome,go to the control center->system administration->login manager and make changes so the system to prompt you for login information.next time you log in you'll have to choose the user to login and below these fields you will be able to choose the seesion you want to start (kde/gnome/and others).choose the one you want and login.there is another way though, which is more complicated....if that won't work i tell you..
