XScreenSaver Daemon Not Activating - Red Hat linux 9.0

    Hi ,

I am not able to activate screensaver on my PC Quest Linux based on RH 9.0. When I am going to that screen its saying that
"X ScreenSaver daemon dosen't seems to be running on display "0.0". Launch it now?"

How can i make that daemon running. Can someone help me out pls.

    Thanks in advance,

You could add a link to xscreensaver in your starupt directory. That should start the daemon when you log into x.

Are you running as root? The screensaver doesn't work when logged in as root, most likely for security reasons.
And you shouldn't log in as root, just su to root in a console window when you need it to do something.
