GNOME (panel applet + gdm)
Hello,
2 questions:
1) I think my GNOME has a problem. An error like "Application "notification-area-applet" (process 807) has crashed
due to a fatal error." often occurs, then it asks me if I want to reload the applet, and everythings is ok.
What I have to do? I'm using RH9, and these errors occur immediately, as soon as installed, and no particular operations are made to make this error happen.
I also reinstalled rh9, but.... its' the same story....
2) I would like to try other desktop/window manager like window maker, xfce: how do I install them in order to make rh9 "recognize" them and to make gdm let me choose them on login?
Thanks!

1. Is it only the notification area applet that crashes, or do other applets crash as well? Is it only applets that crash?

If I were having this problem, I would recompile that applet from source. That often tends to solve many problems.
