Suse Linux 9.0 can't login
Hi,
I need some help here. I have a Suse Linux here that I can't login to. I used to be able to, but now I can't. I was able to login initially, not too sure what keyboard button I pressed(Alt+Tab, maybe), then it kicks straight to the login screen. Subsequent login as root didn't manage to get into the desktop. Login is successful though(no login fail error message), just that the login screen kicks straight back out.
Tried to restart, but to no avail. Saw this Restart X-Server, what's that actually?
Do appreciate any help given. Thanks.

In the earlier versions of Suse I beleive it was not possible (due to security reasons) to login as root in X. You'd have to logon as a regular user.

swemic, thanks for the reply. But I have logged in as root before, so I don't think that's the problem.

Try killing (or restarting, depending on your settings) X, press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.

What's this X thing, by the way?
And about this Restart X-Server, what's that option for?
