Customising Splash Screens
I have a few questions regarding splash screens.
I am running Redhat 8 with Gnome.
Q1. I have created a new background graphic for my grub loader menu but when it runs it is a bit garbled. Anyone know what colour depth etc is needed for this file?
Q2. What is the name/path of the background file for the login screen?
Q3. What is the name/path of the graphic file used by gnome during load (after login).
Any and all help much appreciated.
Cheers
Kris

1: The GRUB texinfo specifies the required file format very exactly: a gzipped xpm which is 640x480 with a 14 color palette.
2: The entire login screen is defined as a gdm theme. See /usr/share/gdm/themes for everything. It's also possible to select which theme to use in gdmsetup, under "Graphical Greeter".
I don't know about the third one, though. Check the docs and google for gnome-session, and you'll probably find it somewhere.
