My display on red hat linux is seems not refreshing properly

I have just got the installation of red hat linux from somebody.

But when I log into it, it gives me text or images as overlapping from one above one and hence not able to read anything properly.

Though if I just try to shift the windows top, down or do some left right shifting it become OK but then after opening anything it again become like
    earlier.

Please help me to correct my display.
