    i cant even startx it wont take the command it goes back to the command line

    After it goes back to the Cli, there should be an error message stating why X could't be started.
    What is in your .xinitrc file?

    i apologize for the lateness of this message, Thank you for all the help. But I think I may try install fedora over it. i figure it was my HDD possibly that may have gotten a little messed up. Thanks for the help
