I think it is, but is it possible to have enlightenment with ubuntu? I currently have GNOME and all the defaults and such. If it is, would ubuntu have everything to use enlightenment? And also after i download it, what steps would i take to make it my default WM? thanks for any help.

you should be able to install it easily with apt-get. Then just edit your .xinitrc file and remove gnome-session and replace it with the enlightenment execute command, not sure what it is but probably enlightenment

ive tried startx, it wont take the command. But when it goes into root@(none), i can act as root under that. There I reboot. It also said something about remount the root partition, i did that, rebooted to no affect. Thanks for the help.
