    Clear command line applet history?

Gnome 2.8 (Mandriva 2005 LE). Having a command line applet on the panel is handy, but it saves everything and I eventually end up with a long history list. It'll clear if I remove the applet and then put it back, but there's got to be an easier way?

Not sure what the command line applet is all about, but one way to clear your history is:
    Code:
    history -c
