i can't seem to install any programs. I always seem to get errors. For example when installing "wine" i get an error that says "configure:error:no acceptable C compiler found in $Path
Configure failed, aborting install.

I am using Red Hat 9.0

Are you logged on as root?

yes
yes, i am, but in some cases - example "wine" it tells me not to login as root. Either way it still doesn't work

You probably don't have a C compiler installed. Pop in your installation CDs and install GCC.
