Error starting GNOME Settings Daemon
Hi,
ever since I first started using GNOME I get the following error:
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
The last error message was:
Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
Does anybody know what could cause this?
I'm switching to GNOME as KDE has this nasty habit of crashing during shutdown, forcing me to do a complete check and repair of hda's.
Thanks for you help in advance,
I am going to stick with GNOME as it is much faster on my Celeron 1200 MHz laptop.
Marinus.
