Has anyone else tried this yet? I just installed it today and its great. I think my favorite part is the transparent mouse cursor with the neat shadow. This might of been avail in other versions and I didnt know about it. Overall I think 4.2.3 well be a good release when they are done.

The only downside to installing this was compiling for 2 hours. After that it was great. Just setup AA fonts now too

compiling is sooo time consuming. After doing it all the time I just kind of start doing it in phases, I will have like 10 things on my computer all compiled that I just forgot to finish installing/setting up. It sucks when you forget stuff.

First, thanks for having one of my posts in the bg of ss1!!!!
Secondly, it looks pretty neat, but it looks very Luna-ish (MacOS X). Just an observation.

I just compiled X 2.4.99-4 (Hah! I'm one release ahead of you!), and for sure it is nice with a transparent pointer that has a shadow. However, the pointer is so BIG! It's like 32x32 in VISIBLE size. Have you discovered how to change the pointers in a standarized way, or will I have to discover that myself?

I haven't found out how to change the cursor yet but I also didn't even look anywhere to find out.

on gnomedesktop.org there is an article about the new XFree cursor. Check it out, it even has a link to a better looking cursor that what they have default.
