I'm guessing it's something with the driver. What video card are you using?

heres where the fun begins... radeon 9200. using ati 3.2.8 driver for xf4.3. However i seem to have the 1 chipset that radeon cards dotn work with: via kt400. so it fails to detect the agp aperture size and turns off 3d. this i could live wiht however when i changed from 3.2.5 to 3.2.8 the x restart thign went from about once to once or twice a day. (and they say the fixed the issue with kt400 boards in this driver release
)
i could switch to dri/drm driver but this still wouldnt fix the failed detection.
no its not a kernel problem (im runnign 2.4.22 and it detects it properly), also 2.6 does the same.
