starting KDE application with sux
I use fluxbox on Suse. To burn dvd I use k3B (that comes from KDE). I need to start it with root priviliges so I use sux command.
But I receive following:
It is strange - I many times lauched k3b in fluxbox. I think fluxbox is not an issue. Why - becouse I start k3b in Fluxbox as root without problems (the whole fluxbox is started by root).Code:linux:/var/log # /opt/kde3/bin/k3b Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key kded: cannot connect to X server :0.0 DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-6079' to 'kded' kded: ERROR: Communication problem with kded, it probably crashed. Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key kdeinit: Can't connect to the X Server. kdeinit: Might not terminate at end of session. Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key k3b: cannot connect to X server :0.0 DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-6070' to 'k3b' ERROR: Communication problem with k3b, it probably crashed. linux:/var/log # Mutex destroy failure: Device or resource busy
Do you have idea what has happend? How to correct it.
I realized that sometimes priviliges of .ICEauthority is changed in some way. But this is not the case now.

Rather than using sux, why not open up a console as a regular user, type xhost +, log in as root with su, and launch your program?
