After reboot it became impossible to type the password in the login screen or change the login name.
The keybord does not respond, but it works fine dough in terminal mode.
The mouse cursor is moving just fine and remote also causes not problem.
I'm doing my first steps with Suse 10 on a dual CPU 850, 1G PC800.
Still have some feelings for the dark side

Run sax2 from a terminal to reconfigure X settings, including your keyboard.

That helped, un grand merci to lakerdonald.
just to help out other newbies:
* I went to command line as root
* <rm /tmp/X0.*> to be able to start a X session
* <startx>
=>keyboard failed
* I went to command line as root
* <init 3>
* <sax2>
* I confirmed the settings
* <init 6> to reboot
=> all ok again.

I only spent about a month on SuSe, about a year ago. But I used Yoper for ages, and Yoper used sax2 as well :P
Glad it worked for you.
