KDE startup failure - blue and white screen flash
Hi,
I'm having a problem with KDE 3 and Redhat 7.3. The system boots to the graphical login screen ok, but if I login to KDE all I get is a screen that flashes blue for ~1sec and then white for ~1sec, seemingly forever. I reinstalled RH 2 days ago but today its back! Gnome works fine so I'm a little confused. Can someone please help.

I found a bit more info comparing yesterdays startup log to todays. From what I can gather this is the system log from when it all went bad
kernel: apm: busy: unable to enter requested state
network: shutting down interface eth0: succeeded
network: shutting down loopback interface: succeeded
/etc/hotplug/net.agent: NET unregister event not supported

my solution to everything: get a newer version.
btw: that look smore like part of a system shutdown log than a kde login.
