KDE color scheme still applied to non-kde apps

I'm running suse 10.0 (having just switched from gentoo, for what it's worth), with kde 3.4. I have a problem with KDE applying my color scheme to non-KDE apps even though I have the "Apply colors to non-kde applications" field unchecked. I've repeatedly tried toggling this with different color schemes, but it still gets applied. I've managed to get firefox to ignore system font colors, but all the form elements are still my system color.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm still having this issue. For the record I'm using kde 3.5.1...

Are they GTK (Gnome) apps? Have you got the same colours set in Gnome?
