    Default colors for console

    Hi

I don't know what to call the screen which appears when one presses ctrl+alt+F1 etc..., the one which does not have X on it, just plain console. I need to change the default colors on this console so that what I type is not grey but blue etc... Where is the configuration file for this and what do I need to do to change these settings. And yes please tell me what do you call this console!!!

    tty1 (going up to tty6)
check also here for changing colors: http://linuxbook.orbdesigns.com/ch15/btlb_c15.html
[syroid@bobo syroid]$ setterm -foreground red -background green
    [syroid@bobo syroid]$ setterm -store
/edit: this does something for me, but it only changes the colour of the beginning of the line ?!?
Now what? You have Linux installed and running. The GUI is working fine, but you are getting tired of changing your desktop themes. You keep seeing this "terminal" thing. Don't worry, they'll show you what to do @
