i need help with my cdrom drive...linux is not reading it when i put a cd in it....can someone help plz

on most distros u have to mount the cd drive once u put a cd in (not in mandrake)
type
mount /mnt/cdrom
once the cd is in
before u remove it, run
umount /mnt/cdrom
