Minimum files needed to run X

I am trying to build a minimal Linux install, and I need to know what the minimal fileset I need to run Xorg on it.

Anyone got any suggestions? or working examples...
(Xorg for Pocket Linux would be wonderful )

Intel 855 and vesa gfx support is kinda important...

    Thanks...

    Which distro are you running?
Most distros have a package manager which will take care of any dependencies.

how minimal are you talking about? you can boot up DSL (Damn Small Linux) for 50 mb of space. mepis and some other installable live distros would be better than trying to install X yourself plus then you still need a window manager. xfce is a good lightweight one people use if they are limited hardware wise.
