    FINNALY!!!!!!!!!! there will be a standard to build to so that we can do something together to go head to head with MS! .....well not too fair to MS there if we standardize :P

    If done this will take linux to the desktop of all and tux will be able to do this ToweringOverThing on a perminant basis!

    Though i still like the thing about being diffrent as possible from another and i think that will continue..... there are thousands of distros out there so other than the bigwhat maybe 10 distros there will still be choice for the rest of us.

    I second that. A desktop standardization might be good to compete against Microsoft, but is that the ultimate goal of GNU/Linux? For me, I hope GNU/Linux continues to offer the variety of choices it currently does, so I as a user can pick and choose the components I find suitable for me.

    "One size fits all" may cater to the general public, but by its very nature it cannot address the specific requirements of specfic users.
