Cygwin and Windows
Hi all:
Total newbie for please forgive!
Okay I have Debian Linux set-up on a server, and I wish to open that up on my laptop! However my laptop run XP, and there is no feasibility for an alternative O/S due to .NET development performed! Now I have heard about Cygwin and how you can open up a connection and perform related tasks! Just wondering if someone could provide further information on this? And how one would go about achieving this?
Many thanks
Oliver

Hi oliver79,
Otherwise, you can use PuTTY, which is a great Telnet and SSH client, to login to your Debian based server.

Hi:
Thanks for that.
I revisited Cygwin installation guide and realised that I hadn't installed X!
Well it now simply a case of from bash shell:X -fullscreen -broadcast
And you're into your Linux server!
Thanks
Oliver
