Firstly I'm using Kubuntu so this is related to Konqueror in KDE.

I just can't seem to find the solution to this problem. All image files (jpeg, png etc.), video file (mpegs, AVIs etc.) that are on my hard-disk show a preview of the file in konqueror. But I can't seem to get a preview for the exact same files if they are on a a storage device (my USB flash disk, cards in my USB card reader or my firewire external HDD).

Is there a way to make previews show up for media files on an external drive?
