X hangs after 15 seconds
Hey guys. I am wondering if you can help me. I have recently installed Gentoo 2004.0 and i am using the 2.6.4 kernel. Everything is installed but after about 15 seconds after i load up X (in every window manager) my system hangs. I can't even kill x. Any help would be appreciated.
PS. I am fairly new to linux.

What happens exactly? Does the windowmanager load and then lock up? Also please post the /etc/X11/XFree86config file. Do you see any error messages such as "no screens found" or anything?

also check /var/log/messages and /var/log/dmesg
the fact that it takes 15 seconds to crash make sit soudn more like a driver problem than an X problem
