When I try connecting the xmanager to linux box(rhel 4.0) the login screen comes but after giving the login entry and click ok it just disappers, it works only ...

xmanager with linux
Hi,
When I try connecting the xmanager to linux box(rhel 4.0) the login screen comes but after giving the login entry and click ok it just disappers, it works only with fail safe mode
. If I use root to login this problem does not happen and able to login successfully to gnome or kde..... plz guide me

Check which groups the user is in. Another thing to check is the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file if it has the lines:
Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSection
